Program Overview:
The purpose of this webinar is to enable participants to recognize the need for immunizations in the HIV positive person and how to provide the needed immunizations.
Upon completion, participants will:
- Recognize the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA) recommendations for immunizations of HIV infected patients
- List vaccines that are contraindicated for HIV infected patients
- Discuss CD4 T cell related recommendations for vaccinations in HIV infected patients

Dr Stephen Eppes is a board certified pediatric infectious disease specialist and holds licensure in both Delaware and Pennsylvania. He was the first pediatric specialist in Delaware to direct a pediatric HIV/AIDS outpatient clinic. He has provided care for the majority of at risk and diagnosed HIV/AIDS children in the state of Delaware. Dr Eppes is a graduate of the University of South Florida and the University of Virginia. He was instrumental in a clinical research trial to determine efficacy of AZT in pediatric cases. He has also participated in a phase 1 trial to determine “Indices of Neurological Status with use of AZT”. Dr Eppes has published numerous articles, is a frequently invited guest lecturer, a member of many professional committees and professional societies.
