Since the beginning of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, 36 percent of all AIDS cases in the United States have been directly or indirectly linked to injection drug use (IDU). This program will be an introduction to Buprenorphine/Naloxone (Suboxone). We will discuss the possibility of integrating suboxone into HIV treatment programs and the role of suboxone treatment in minimizing HIV infections.
