This workshop will discuss the practical strategies, as well as the philosophies of harm reduction as a means to creating healthier communities and supporting positive change. The workshop will provide a structured forum to discuss the core principles of harm reduction and their potential influence on programming; learn examples of evidence-based practices from a variety of disciplines that adopt harm reduction strategies; learn and practice basic tools of harm reduction; and, explore harm reduction philosophy and its intersections with culture, spirituality and social justice.
