This three-day program will prepare the participants to provide HIV counseling in the CTR (Counseling, Testing & Referral) setting. Content includes principles of effective counseling and their application to the HIV test setting. Demonstration, modeling and skill practice are included as well as federal reporting requirements, use of CTR Encounter Form, Maryland HIV testing regulations and legal issues. Attendance at this program is required by the IDEHA for counselors working at publicly supported CTR sites.
